Character Design with Stephen Silver
Here is a design of a charcter named Jerry Loomy based on a description provided by cartoonist Stephen Silver, for an assignment in his Character Design course (which I am currently taking).
These are the process shots. First the thumbnails and ideation sketches not shown here, then the cooncept sketch with notes on the character:
Then comes the construction Lines to help proprtion the character and give him form:
next a clean up sketch followed by the ink outline:
My main inspirations for the character based on the character brief were actors Danny Devito and George C. Scott. Hope you enjoyed it, thanks for stopping by.
