Ball Point pen doodles
It's been awhile since I sketched with Ball Point pen. I have dozens of Hard cover blackbook sketchbooks filled with ball point pen sketches in nearly every color. I forgot how much I like that medium. I been hooked on Prismacolors col-erase line , but I think I'll start sketching in pen more often or at least alternate between the two. The sketches are followed by some character development thumbnails that I did for a few clients as style test. Enjoy:)

Bug Man
An old ball point sketch that I decided to color for fun. Here is the colored version followed by the original pen sketch from my sketchbook of 2005. At times I think crappy sketches should be left alone and dumped and other times I feel they should be revisited. Anything to keep that pen, pencil, brush, Wacom stylus moving :)

Pepo and his bully repellent monster
This cartoon was inspired by a conversation I had with my wife about my 2 year old grandson. Because of all the recent media coverage on bullying in schools, my step-daughter and wife were showing concern, hoping that lil Jon-Jon a.ka. DA PEPO (my grandson) would not have to face bullying when he starts school. Is this a special power that Pepo has to deal with bullies or could it be an over active imagination that helps him have the confidence to keep the bullies at bay. I'll leave that to your interpretation. At any rate here is Pepo's anti-bully message, it really is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. The scripture on his T-shirt is taken from the book of Isiah in The Holy Bible: "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn".

Lone wolf and Cub
Here's a ball point pen and marker sketch I drew while watching Kill Bill vol. 1 and 2 last night. It's a homage to the Shogun Assasin, and the graphic novels, lone Wolf and Cub by Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima. These were early influences of mine, I still have most of the issues. The story telling is awesome, check it out when you can.
The figures in the drawing are Me and my Grandson Jon-Jon ready for action :) I will propably work this into a finished painting at some point. Enjoy
